Third Grade. A woman  SO  sweet and genuine. She was the  eye of the storm .. My home life was a war zone  and some of the kids at school were cruel.

When I taught I made it clear bullying and disrespect were not ok. I was the
only teacher to enforce it in my school. One of the reasons the Oakland School System
has the rep for the worst school in the world. That was 7 years ago. Since
then Charters have sprung up. The vision has to be one of respect and
conflict resolution. Period.
